Product Manager, Duo Security

Bob Hillhouse serves The University of Tennessee as the Associate CIO for Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery and as the Information Security Officer. Bob is a native Knoxvillian and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He uses multi-factor authentication.

Jim has a history of working at successful startups. Before coming to Duo, he helped start Arbor Networks, a company that provides network security and management solutions for some of the world’s largest and most complex networks. While there, he led engineering and user experience teams through both sides of the acquisition process. He holds a patent for cloud mitigation services, and degrees in Computer Science and Japanese.

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville knew they had a need for security in multiple departments, even though the only compliance-driven need was for payment card data protection. To ensure strong security in other areas deemed sensitive, they used the PCI standards as a framework for informing the policy. Easy roll out with the two factor approach they took stimulated the discussion about an expansion.
